Theatrical Deals Bloom for Agatha’s Almanac
Bantam Film (Benelux) and Joint Entertainment (Taiwan) to Bring Amalie Atkins’ Poetic Debut to Audiences Worldwide
We are delighted to announce that Bantam Film in the Benelux region and Joint Entertainment in Taiwan have acquired theatrical rights to Agatha’s Almanac by Amalie Atkins.
Following its world premiere at CPH:DOX and its Best Canadian Feature Documentary Award win at Hot Docs, Agatha’s Almanac continues to captivate global audiences with its quiet strength and lyrical storytelling. A tender portrait of a fiercely independent 90-year-old woman rooted deeply in the soil of her ancestral farm, the film captures a rare and deeply human story that reminds us of the beauty of slow, intentional living.
In the Benelux, Agatha’s Almanac will be in the caring hands of Bantam Film, known for its refined and intimate approach to curation and theatrical release. Spearheaded by Wiepko Oosterhuis—a seasoned figure in the Dutch film landscape with experience as a programmer, distributor, and advisor—Bantam Film works in close collaboration with the expert team of Film Incompany and the visual storytellers at Orka Visual Media. Together, they ensure that each film is not only seen but felt.
Meanwhile, in Taiwan, JOINT Entertainment brings Agatha’s Almanac into a rich tradition of community-centered cinema. Born from cinephilic friendship and driven by a love of storytelling, JOINT is an independent film company built on shared values, creative risk-taking, and the belief that cinema can bring joy, connection, and reflection into everyday life.
With these thoughtful and passionate distributors, Agatha’s Almanac is set to blossom on screens far beyond its rural roots.
Stay tuned for local release dates and events in the Benelux and Taiwan!
