Penelope My Love and Looking For Horses Premiering at FID Marseille
It’s a pleasure to announce that the latest addition to our catalogue – PENELOPE MY LOVE by Claire Doyon – is celebrating its World Premiere at the 32nd edition of the International Film Festival Marseille on Wed, July 21st, at 16:30, competing in the French Competition.
For 18 years, director Claire Doyon has been filming Pénélope, her daughter with autism. Comprised out of DV tapes, Super 8 reels and HD archives, PENELOPE MY LOVE shows the relationship between mother and daughter through different stages – the shock of the diagnosis, the fight against it, the resolve, the acceptance and discovery of a different mode of existence.
PENELOPE MY LOVE is produced by Carole Chassaing of Paris-based Tamara Films and co-produced by Thomas Carillon of Micro Climat Studios.
Claire Doyon’s filmography includes films Les Lionceaux, Le vent souffle où il veut, Kataï, Les Allées sombres, Arsenic, Chrishna/Ombwiri, selected at international festivals such as the Locarno International Film Festival, The Venice Mostra, the Turin Film Festival, the Marseille International Film Festival, the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, Côté Court in Pantin, and for which she won prizes. She directed Pénélope, a film about a journey with her daughter with autism to the borders of Mongolia, which won the Renaud Victor Prize at the FID in Marseille.

Nominated for the Doc Alliance 2021 Awards – Stefan Pavlović’s LOOKING FOR HORSES – is premiering in France at FID in the Other Gems section on Wednesday, July 21st, 10:00.
