It is an honor to share that the multiple award-winning, poignant and powerful feature debut by Abdallah Al-Khatib LITTLE PALESTINE, DIARY OF A SIEGE is in consideration for Best Documentary Feature at this year’s 95th Academy Awards.
LITTLE PALESTINE, a filmed diary of the daily life in the biggest Palestinian refugee camp – Yarmouk, in Damascus, Syria and its besieged inhabitants, who decided to face bombing, displacement and hunger with rallying, study, music, love and joy, has had an incredible festival circuit run with over 50 international selections including Visions du Réel, ACID Cannes, BFI London, Yamagata IDFF, São Paulo IFF, Carthage FF, Ajyal FF, RIDM, IDFA, Santa Barbara IFF, and many more.
The film has received numerous awards including the Black Iris Award for Best Arab Feature-length documentary at Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film, the Interreligious Award at Visions du Réel, Audience Award at Filmfest Hamburg, Best Film at the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival 2021, Impact Audience Award at Vancouver International Film Festival, Press Jury Award at War on Screen Film Festival, Best Film at Documentary Competition at IFFI – International Film Festival Innsbruck, Honorable Jury Mention at Mostra – São Paulo IFF, Prix TV 5 Monde at Carthage Film Festival, Palestinian Sunbird Award for Best Documentary at Palestine Cinema Days, Bader Best Feature Film Award at Ajyal Film Festival, most recently the Best Human Rights Film Award at Verzió Film Festival 2022.
