Icarus Films Acquires U.S. & Canadian Rights to DO YOU LOVE ME — Rapid Eye Movies Boards for Germany & Austria
We are thrilled to share that Icarus Films has acquired U.S. and Canadian distribution rights to Lana Daher’s acclaimed debut feature DO YOU LOVE ME, ahead of its U.S. Premiere at SXSW this March.
In a separate deal, Rapid Eye Movies has acquired rights for Germany and Austria, with a Spring theatrical release planned. The company will present the film to exhibitors at the European Film Market in Berlin.
The film’s trailer premiered with Variety.
“We are happy and excited to release Lana Daher’s beautiful, innovative and deeply touching film Do You Love Me in German cinemas this spring,” said Stephan Holl of Rapid Eye Movies.
Composed entirely of archival footage, DO YOU LOVE ME is a playful and deeply personal journey through Lebanon’s audiovisual memory, spanning more than 70 years of film, television, home videos, and photography. Framed as a love letter to Beirut, the film explores the country’s collective psyche — shaped by joy and intimacy, destruction and loss — in a nation without a national archive, where images become acts of preservation, resistance, and renewal.
The film celebrated its World Premiere at Giornate degli Autori in Venice and has since screened at major international festivals including International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, Doclisboa, Cairo International Film Festival, Marrakech International Film Festival, Filmfest Hamburg, and RIDM.
