HOW TO SAVE A DEAD FRIEND to have French Theatrical Release in 2023
We have wonderful news to share at the start of the new year — Marusya Syroechkovskaya’s HOW TO SAVE A DEAD FRIEND is coming to cinemas across France in 2023 as French distributor La Vingt-Cinquieme Heure comes on board!
Founded in 2012, La Vingt-Cinquième Heure is based at the Commune Image Audiovisual Center in Saint-Ouen, producing and distributing fiction and documentary films. Keeping a modern, cutting-edge technology approach at its core, La Vingt-Cinquième Heure ranges from production to distribution and marketing, from feature films to cross-media works, including documentaries and virtual reality with the ambition to explore new territories of audiovisual storytelling.
Following its World Premiere at Visions du Réel’s International Competition where it received a Special Mention, Marusya Syroechkovskaya’s HOW TO SAVE A DEAD FRIEND has received recognition by press, juries and audiences alike — with over 35 international festival selections and 17 awards including The Prize of the International Film Critics presented by FIPRESCI at Festival du nouveau cinéma de Montréal FNC, the Grand Jury Award in International Competition at DOC NYC, Grand Prix Long-métrage at Festival International du Film d’Amiens, the Youth Jury Award at Zinebi FF, the Golden Key Award for Best Feature Film at Kasseler Dokfest and most recently the Audience Choice Award at Singapore International Film Festival, among others.
The film has a tentative release date of October 4, 2023, with director Marusya Syroechkovskaya set to participate in a promotional tour in the territory around the release with Q&A screenings live-streamed in other cinemas through French platform CUULT.
