FIUME O MORTE! Selected as Croatia’s Submission for the 2026 Goya Awards

We are delighted to share that FIUME O MORTE! by Igor Bezinović has been officially selected to represent Croatia in the race for the Goya Award for Best European Film at the 40th Goya Awards, taking place on 28 February 2026in Barcelona.

This year, national academies and selection committees from across Europe have put forward 18 films, with a maximum of two submissions per country. We are proud to see Fiume o morte! stand alongside some of the continent’s most exciting works — a recognition that further cements the film’s extraordinary momentum following its international festival success and double European Film Award nomination.

As part of the Goya Academy’s official showcase, the selected titles will screen in Madrid between 19 December and 7 January, with Fiume o morte! scheduled for 22 December at 19:00.
