At the age of 9, Carlos arrives from Mexico to Chicago with his three brothers and his parents. The day he turns 18, his future becomes uncertain. According to US law, Carlos is now undocumented. The slightest mistake can lead him to deportation. From defeats to successes, DREAMERS tells the story of Carlos now 38 years old, his brothers and the fate of 2.5 million people growing up in a country that still does not recognize them as its own.

Stéphanie Barbey
Born in 1972 in Geneva, Switzerland. Stéphanie Barbey has an MA from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences. She studied documentary film at the Ateliers Varan, Paris. Since 2006, she has been an associate at Intermezzo Films and works as a documentary
filmmaker.

Luc Peter
Born in 1963, Luc Peter studied Political Science at the University of Geneva (BA 1986 and MA 1989). He then went on to study Filmmaking at the Ecole Cantonale d’Art in Lausanne (1994). He directed numerous documentary features as well as TV documentaries. Since 2001, he is a producer at Intermezzo Films.

Katia Monla
Born in Beirut, Katia Monla grew up in Geneva. After obtaining a BA from the University of Ottawa, Canada, in Communication and Letters, she worked in the international music industry in Switzerland, for the Montreux Jazz Festival then for EMI Records as a press. She then became a freelance journalist for a local daily and wrote for various sections: local politics, portraits and culture. In 2014, she began a new career in Swiss independent film production and joined Intermezzo Films in 2017.

Founded in 1993, Intermezzo Films produces feature films and documentaries in a spirit of freedom and artistic rigour.
