Cinema Politica is the Canadian distributor of LITTLE PALESTINE, DIARY OF A SIEGE

Canadian distributor Cinema Politica has acquired the rights for Abdallah Al-Khatib’s award-winning feature debut LITTLE PALESTINE, DIARY OF A SIEGE for Canada!

Founded in 2003, Cinema Politica is a non-profit media arts organization dedicated to supporting the work of independent, political filmmakers in Canada and beyond. The organization is made up of an alternative exhibition network, dedicated distribution arm, and a Video On Demand platform for cutting edge, socially engaged cinema.

Abdallah Al-Khatib’s poignant directorial debut follows the daily life of the besieged inhabitants of the biggest Palestinian refugee camp – Yarmouk, in Damascus, Syria, who decide to face bombing, displacement and hunger with rallying, study, music, love and joy. 

LITTLE PALESTINE, DIARY OF A SIEGE has already resonated with the Canadian audience, having premiered in North America at Vancouver International Film Festival (Impact Audience Award) and in Canada at RIDM 2021. Afterwards being screened at International Film Festival of Ottawa (Feature Film Audience Award) and Festival cinéma du monde de Sherbrooke (Special Mention) in 2022.

After its World Premiere at Visions du Réel 2021 (Interreligious Award), and selection at ACID Cannes, LITTLE PALESTINE, DIARY OF A SIEGE has had an impressive festival circuit tour with more than 30 international film festival selections and 21 awards.
